There may be no hotter team in women’s soccer than the Texas A&M Lady Aggies. They finished tied for the best record in the SEC with the University of Florida at 17-4-1. After finishing the season on a 12 game win streak and the SEC tournament championship, the Lady Aggies are preparing for the NCAA tournament. This is the 19th consecutive trip to the tournament dating back to 1995. They will be lead by soccer coach G Guerrieri, who has been with the school since 1993. Coach G, as he is reffered to, is 338-101-24 his 21 year tenure at the helm of the women’s soccer team.
This marks their first conference championship since 2011, when Texas A&M was part of the Big 12 conference. The Lady Aggies have the number four seed in the tournament will host the Utah Lady Utes at Ellis Field Friday at 7 p.m. The game can be seen on 12thManTV. If both Texas Tech and Texas A&M win their respective first round matches, fans just may see an old Big 12 rivalry renewed. The Lady Aggies are lead on the field by seniors Rachel Lenz and Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar. The Lady Aggies are in pursuit of their first ever National Championship for this prestigious university.
