Wednesday Night at Reed Arena the Lady Aggies and Prairie View tried to prove who was the superior A&M. From the tip off of this game it was over relatively early. Prairie View would only score 10 points in the first half of play. That was the lowest number the Lady Aggies had held an opponent since last season against Louisiana Tech scored six points in a half. Prairie View would only score 17 points in the second half allowing Texas A&M to cruise to a victory. the 12th ranked Lady Aggies are now 2-0 early on in the season.
Prairie View shot 19 percent from the field, including 18 percent from three point land going 3-16. They would only make six free throw attempts sinking four. Their leading scorer was LaReahn Washington who came off the bench to score eight points in 20 minutes. Gabrielle Scott also came off the bench scoring seven in 22 minutes. Texas A&M scored an identical 38 points in each half. Center Karla Gilbert led the Lady Aggies with 15 points in 24 minutes. Courtney Walker and Achiri Ada were your second leading scores with 11 points in 27 and 28 minutes respectively.
The Lady Aggies shot 53 percent from the floor but they were only able to hit one out of seven three point attempts. This game didn’t have many fouls and the Lady Aggies only received nine chances from the charity stripe. Sunday at 3:30 pm CST, A&M will take on the Houston Cougars in Houston.
