The Road to the SEC Championship Game

Nov 9, 2013; College Station, TX, USA; Texas A

At this point it is a tough road to Atlanta for the Aggies, however it isn’t impossible for them to win the West. The first thing that needs to happen for any kind of  scenario is for the Aggies to win out. They have a trip to Baton Rouge to play the 18th ranked LSU Tigers and the 8th ranked Missouri Tigers. They can also wreck the SEC Championship hopes for Missouri.

The next part of the scenario involved the favorite to win the West, Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama has three games left on the schedule and only two of them are SEC conference games. The Aggies need the Tide to lose both of those games against Mississippi State and their hated rival Auburn Tigers. That is a tall task for these two teams but again it leaves the door open for A&M.

The last part of the scenario involves the Auburn Tigers who have the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama left to play on their schedule. This week the Aggies will be rooting for the Tigers to be upset by the Bulldogs. If Georgia is able to pull of the upset, then the hopes of a SEC championship are are still alive.

This Saturday the eyes of College Station will be watching hoping for the Aggies division rivals to pull off wins in MSU and Georgia. If either lose then the Aggies will just need to win out and get the best Bowl game they can. At this point they are projected to play against the Wisconsin Badgers in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida on New Years Day according to Sports Illustrated.
