Aggies Among Outland and Hornung Award Finalists

Two Aggies were named finalists for different awards recently. Jake Matthews was announced as a finalist for the Outland Trophy. There were six finalists announced alongside Matthews. Cyrus Kouandjio of Alabama was also named to this list. The other four are Aaron Donald (Pitt), Cyril Richardson (Baylor), Bryan Stork (FSU) and David Yankey (Stanford). Luke Joeckel won the award last year and with Matthews the Aggies could have back to back winners.

 

Paul Hornung Award Committee named Johnny Manziel one of the five finalists today. The award is given to the most versatile playing in college football. The SEC conference has two players in the final five. You will be able to see both this coming Saturday, LSU Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr was the other finalist from college football’s elite conference. The winner will be announce at their banquet on January 28, 2014. Last year Tavon Austin was the award winner.
