The Johnny Manziel Decision

Seems like all of College Station and the NFL scouts are awaiting the decision of Johnny Manziel. Will he go pro or stay for another season? It isn’t too often that redshirt sophomores declare for the NFL Draft so it would be a somewhat unique situation for Manziel. He could be leaning towards declaring himself eligible for the Draft. The recent news regarding Zach Mettenberger and Marcus Mariota will definitely play a factor in whichever way he is leaning.

LSU’s quarterback Mettenberger went down in the game against Arkansas with a torn ACL. He was regarded as a first round quarterback by many NFL Draft analyst. He won’t be able to to workout at the combine, or the play in the Senior Bowl which could drop him out of the first round. As for Mariota, he was highly regarded as the best quarterback not named Teddy Bridgewater.

With Mariota returning to school and Mettenberger’s injury, this can help Manziel in terms of less opposition to be drafted ahead of him quarterback wise. It just might be what steers Manziel to NFL.
