Texas A&M (8-4) is getting ready to face off against the Duke Blue Devils (10-3) in the upcoming SEC vs ACC Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia on December 31st. Duke is the surprising visitor for most fans as no one expected them to be this good. However, could the success Duke has seen be a mirage? They play in a conference that has one elite team and a lot of pretenders. Their three losses came against Georgia Tech (7-5), Pitt (6-6) and the National Championship contender Florida State (13-0). Outside of the ACC Championship game they shouldn’t have lost to the other two. They aren’t exactly running up against murderer’s row in that conference.
In steps there next opponent the Fightin’ Texas Aggies. Similar to Florida State the Aggies have a top tier quarterback, a physical beast at wide receiver and a solid trio at running back. Johnny Manziel will playing in his last college game in the eyes of many including myself. Manziel is a matchup nightmare for this team and he will healthy for the first time in weeks. In the game against the Seminoles, Jameis Winston gashed their defense to the tune of 330 yards passing and another 59 yards rushing. You could expect Manziel to post similar numbers. That is why I am taking the Aggies in this game 52-41 in a high scoring affair. We are still 11 days away from kickoff but this should be an exciting game.
