Chick-Fil-A Bowl: Previewing the Running Backs

Much like their quarterback situation, the Blue Devils use a variety of guys in their running game. Four guys have split carriers throughout the season. You could easily say six if you include the two quarterbacks.Their running backs will be a key part of the game if they hope to upset the Aggies. In any gameplan both aspects have to be clicking if the coaches want to move the ball effectively. When Snyder puts together his defensive gameplan for this game he can only focus on the running backs in the rushing game. None of these four running backs catch the ball out of the backfield.

Jela Duncan is the main back in terms of production. However, due to academics he has been suspended for this bowl game and the entire 2014 season. Duke will miss his 562 yards and four touchdowns. Josh Snead will most likely receive most of the carries in this game. He finished the season with 547 yards and one score. Shaquille Powell and Juwan Thompson will spell Snead in the game.

In terms of a trio of running backs I give the edge to the Aggies.
