Johnny Manziel Steals Victory in Atlanta

If last nights game was the last for Mike Evans and Johnny Manziel, then the 12th man got their moneys worth. The Aggies went into halftime with a 21 point deficit. The defense couldn’t stop anyone and the offense seemed to be off. Receivers were either missing catches or dropping them altogether. The game came down to two late interceptions by the much maligned defense. Toney Hurd Jr had a pick six return to take the lead at 52-48, which would be score that sealed the victory.

The biggest thing that stood out during last night’s game was Manziel and his leadership. This is one of the most underrated aspects of his game. After the touchdown to get the Aggies to within three points ESPN showed Manziel on the sideline telling his defense to “Take it, take it, take it from them”. To me showed his leadership willing his team on as well as his sheer competitive nature.

This was the highest scoring Chick-Fil-A Bowl in history with a combined 100 points combined between both schools. Give the Duke Blue Devils a lot of credit they came in ready to fight. It took a near perfect game from Manziel to overcome everything that the Blue Devils threw at them. I look forward to watching Manziel play next year, wherever that may be.
