In what has become a new tradition embraced by the Aggie family, the Texas A&M football team will host Friday Night Lights on Friday March 31 at 8 p.m.

The university put out a statement earlier in the week addressing the event. In the release, head coach Kevin Sumlin spoke with anticipation of the upcoming event:

"“We are looking forward to a great crowd for our Friday Night Lights. Our players are excited and we anticipate a lot of energy in the very best football stadium in the country.”"

Before the event, the Memorial Student Center is worth walking through, but be sure to remove your hat before you do. If you haven’t made it back since the building was renovated a few years ago, it’s worth giving a few minutes to before the festivities get started.

The gates will open at 7:30 p.m. Fans will be greeted by Pepsi’s mobile video game trailer, DJ Stein, and family-friendly attractions in the Kyle Field lobby. The first fans in attendance have the chance to get free Double Dave’s. If you miss the free stuff, the concessions will be open for the duration of the event. The clear bag policy is “recommended”.

There will be giveaways and prize drawings for official Aggie gear and a VIP Gameday experience. Keep your raffle tickets, and of course – you must be present to win.

Fans will be treated to a spectacular fireworks show at the conclusion of the event. As if that wasn’t good enough already, the entire event is free. With the upcoming football season so far away (and getting further away), this small taste of pigskin will keep the good energy alive. It might not be the fall, but football will be back on Friday! Thank goodness.
