Texas A&M Football: Aggies Look to Smash NMSU Aggies
X-Factor and Keys to Victory
Key to Victory: Ball Security
Show up? On a more serious note, ball security will be key. If New Mexico State wants to keep this game close they’ll have to find a way to take the ball away from Texas A&M. The Aggies from College Station were able to keep the game against Alabama close before a defensive score shifted the momentum for good.
The New Mexico State defense has forced 12 turnovers this year, including two in each of their victories. Trevor Knight has had some bad games throwing the football, which mean’s there is always a chance that he could have another one on Saturday. If Texas A&M is able to control the football they shouldn’t have an issue dispatching a 2-5 Sun Belt team.
X-Factor: Josh Reynolds
Senior Josh Reynolds is the Aggies most reliable deep ball threat. If he’s able to break away from the defense for a long touchdown (like this) the game could be out of reach early. Reynolds has five touchdowns in 2016 and is four scores away from tying Jeff Fuller’s school record of 27 career receiving touchdowns. It’s unlikely he catches Fuller this weekend, but a pair of scores would position Reynolds to break the record before the season is over.
