Texas A&M Football 2017: 3 Keys to victory over New Mexico
4 Explosive Runs
Another area the New Mexico struggles to stop is explosive plays, especially in the running game. Looking back at the advanced stats from this season, New Mexico is ranked 102nd in rushing points per play. On average, they give up 1-point per rushing play, right on the money. The Aggies should try and hit a few “home runs” with running backs Trayveon Williams and Keith Ford.
The other thing this will accomplish is going to tie back into the first key I want to see from this game. Long runs will bring the safeties and linebackers closer to the line, making them more susceptible to play action passes. If Starkel can find open receivers, he may have a big day, all set up by a powerful rushing attack.

LSU and Ole Miss are going to try and stop the run, and while LSU will be more successful than Ole Miss will be, it is important to be going into those games on a high note, instead of struggling past an outmatched team on the way to another November.
