Texas A&M Football: 3 Takeaways from the Aggies’ win vs UNM
By Tim England
3. Ole Miss, LSU and Kevin Sumlin
Texas A&M is now bowl eligible. Texas A&M is not going to play for the SEC Championship or the College Football Playoff. But these last two game have become so important for Kevin Sumlin and the future of Texas A&M.
I have not and am still not on the so-called “Fire Sumlin” bandwagon and still maintain that belief. I believe Texas A&M has to win out including the bowl game and win convincingly, otherwise Sumlin will be in trouble. There is no excuse with a healthy Nick Starkel that this cannot happen. It’s time to finish this season the right foot.
Kevin Sumlin has never beaten LSU while at Texas A&M. He’s come close, but each time the Aggies have ended the season with a sour taste in their mouths. Beating the Tigers this year would prove that the Aggies have taken a step forward.
