10 Things Texas A&M football fans want for Christmas
10. To silence the haters in 2018
Texas A&M sent shockwaves through the college football world when they hired Jimbo Fisher from Florida State. They handed him a 10-year contract that drove media outlets wild. What if it doesn’t work out? What if Fisher wasn’t ever that great of a coach in the first place?
It’s true. There are more questions surrounding the Texas A&M football program that ever before. But there is also more hope and greater expectations. Most of the nation believes that Texas A&M’s attempts to jump into the upper-tier of programs is foolishness. How can a program without the history of Michigan, Notre Dame, USC or Oklahoma hope to be a perennial Playoff contender?
Aggie fans have heard it since Fisher was hired and they’ll keep hearing it until Fisher is able to do what he was hired to do – win. Texas A&M has done everything they can do to build a competitive football program. Fisher is supposed to be the last piece that puts them over the top.

The best Christmas gift Aggies could receive this year is the validation of their hopes and dreams. They’ve been waiting for this for what feels like forever. Fisher is here and with him are renewed dreams and raised hopes. Like their entry into the SEC in 2012, 2018 has the potential to be a watershed moment. Nothing would say Merry Christmas better than a National Championship trophy next January.
