4. The next elite receiver to emerge

Texas A&M fans have been spoiled over the last several seasons. The introduction of Kevin Sumlin’s spread-oriented offense brought with it some of the best wide receivers this school has ever seen.

Sumlin won with guys that were already on the roster like Ryan Swope and Malcolm Kennedy, but the new faces he brought to College Station etched themselves into Aggie history quickly. Mike Evans and Josh Reynolds each belong in the conversation of the all-time greats, as does Christian Kirk. But who is next?

Jhamon Ausbon entered 2017 with high praise, but offensive turmoil and a quarterback shuffle seemed to prevent him from taking the next step in his development. Camron Buckley had a few big catches and Rashauud Paul had moments where he looked to be the second-coming of Kirk himself.

The 2018 recruiting class has some more options and Jimbo Fisher could add another to the fold before too long. There are plenty of possibilities, but who will step up?
