Players are buying into Jimbo Fisher
The biggest takeaway, and one that should come as no surprise, is the players are buying what Fisher is selling. All three in attendance at SEC Media Days were asked to give their thoughts on Fisher in some way.
Trayveon Williams
"“Coach Fisher has brought a sense of history. He has been to the National Championship and he knows what it takes to win. He has brought that to this university, and he brought great coaching. He brought in the right guys to get us ready to win a national championship.”"
Erik McCoy
"“[Fisher’s] four key words are toughness, effort, discipline and pride, and he emphasizes that in everything we do. Whether that is strength in the weight room, the strength and conditioning, practice, the field and he really puts emphasis on it.” “It’s important, when you have a coach that puts emphasis on those things that makes you want to do them even more. Especially across the board with the young guys, it teaches them what they have to have to play here.”"
Kingsley Keke
"“Everyone on the team is excited about him being here. Jimbo Fisher has a proven track record of winning national championships. He’s a great coach. We all love what he’s done so far.”"
It’s very likely these three guys could be captains of the team in 2018, so it’s good to see them spreading such a positive message before the season starts.
