Texas A&M Football 50 in 50: 6 position battles to watch at fall camp
By Jeff Shull
Wide Receiver
Outside of Jhamon Ausbon, it’s a total cluster you-know-what as to the receivers who will get the most snaps in Fisher’s new offense. A&M has a total of seven true and redshirt sophomores vying for playing time and all but one recorded a reception in 2017.
Ausbon had the biggest impact last year in his true freshman year. The starting outside receiver spot next to him will be the big question mark in fall camp. Kendrick Rogers has a bead on the others after a stellar Spring Game. He had eight catches for 90 yards and a touchdown to lead Team White. He is a beast at 6-foot-5 and could be the Aggies’ best red zone threat in 2018.
The slot receiver position is up for grabs and is in a battle between two very good players. Camron Buckley and Roshauud Paul each have the skillset to be weapons inside for the A&M quarterback (whoever that will be). Buckley had five catches for 65 yards and a touchdown and Paul had four catches for 34 yards in the Spring Game.
Hezekiah Jones, Quartney Davis and Klyde Chriss also figure to be in the battle for snaps, and all three were 4-star recruits from their respective classes.
