With just months to go before the 2019-20 college basketball season, Texas A&M Basketball has released it’s non-conference schedule.
As anticipation grows for the Texas A&M Basketball season, we now know who the Aggies will face off against before conference play starts in January.
The Aggies announced their non-conference schedule on twitter earlier this week, a schedule that features a nice mix between easy wins and tough strength-of-schedule building games.
The first two games of the Aggies season should be easy wins, as they take on Northwestern State and UL-Monroe at Reed Arena.
Then, the Aggies face a real test, as Admon Gilder and the Gonzaga Bulldogs will head to town on Friday, November 15th. If the Aggies can pull off a major upset, you can bet they’ll be in the top-25 the following week.
After a game against Troy, the Aggies will head to Orlando, where they’ll take on Harvard, then the winner of Maryland/Temple. The Aggies will face a tiugh test against any of those three opponents, as they are all projected tournament teams.
After the conclusion of the Orlando games, the Aggies will face Texas in a neutral site game in Fort Worth. The game expects to be highly-anticipated and would be a great win for the Aggies to nab for their resumee.
After a trio of winable games, the Aggies will finish their non-conference schedule at home against Oklahoma State, a team that missed the tournament last season but could be surprisingly good with many returning players and a solid recruiting class.
The Aggies will need all of the wins that they can get before the SEC conference play kicks off, as the SEC expects to be very competitive once again. If the Aggies can win at least three of their games against other high-major teams, I think their pre-conference play resumee will be solid, and their first test under Buzz Williams will be viewed as a big win.
