Texas A&M Football’s Kellen Mond has first-round potential in the NFL Draft

The closer we get to the 2021 NFL Draft, the more it seems like Kellen Mond could be taken in the first round of the draft. I’ll preface this slide by saying that it’s still unlikely, but not out of the realm of possibilities.

As previously mentioned, this year will be a free-for-all at the quarterback position in the NFL Draft. It is entirely likely that the first four picks of the draft could all be QBs, so the second-tier passers will take a step up in most mock drafts.

That said, Mond could be taken anywhere as early as the mid-teens of the first round. It is, however, much more likely that he is taken late in the first round or early in the second.

Here’s a scenario that sees him being taken in the 15-20 range in the first round.

One team that would be an interesting pairing with Mond is the Chicago Bears. As a quarterback, this has to be somewhere at the end of the list of teams that you’d like to land on, but it would give the former Aggies quarterback a chance to see some early playing time. The Bears have the 20th pick as things stand, but could trade up into the teens to ensure that they get their guy — we saw them do this before to get Mitchell Trubisky.

Let’s just hope things turn out a little differently for Mond if this scenario comes true.
