Texas A&M Football RB/WR Ainias Smith’s versatility is unmatched in college football

If there’s a player on this roster with immediate Heisman potential, it’s Ainias Smith. Since he isn’t a quarterback, the odds are low of him winning this award, but I thought that I should include a non-quarterback player. Regardless, he is easily the most talented player on this roster at any position.

Smith is a swiss-army knife in the game of football. He can line up as a runningback or in the slot, whichever coaches feel like assigning him at the present moment.

With an offensive line undergoing huge changes and a quarterback switch for the Aggies, he may be the player that has to step up and put this offense on his back. And he is fully capable of doing just that.

In his two-year career thus far, he has 1,159 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns. A large majority of his numbers came on the receiving end, but he stepped up as an extremely strong runner in 2020.

Again, it’s unlikely that he’ll actually win the award, but Ainias Smith has game-breaking ability. He may be the most versatile player in the country and if TAMU’s offense succeeds in 2021, you can guarantee that he’ll play a huge role in it.
