Texas A&M Football Goal No. 3: Win a national championship
This was intentionally the third and final goal on the list because it’s the most important one.
The Texas A&M Football team has claimed three national titles. Remember them? Actually, I know for a fact that that answer is no because anybody who is old enough to remember them is too old to function a computer. The most recent of those titles came in 1939, which is rapidly approaching a century ago.
The Texas A&M Football team needs to reach the promised land in the modern era. Prior to Jimbo Fisher, the program has been competitive at a relatively high level, they just haven’t been a top ten team.
If Fisher wants to be relevant — truly relevant — he needs to win a national championship for the Aggies.
The positive side of this is that if Fisher does manage to reach the two prior goals on this list, this final goal should come easy. That said, a national championship will be an extremely difficult thing to achieve.
With one under his belt with Florida State, Aggie fans can rest relatively easy knowing that their head coach is part of a very small list of leaders who have won it all.
