For the Texas A&M Football team, the SEC season will be starting off with a ranked matchup against one of the hottest teams in the nation. The Arkansas Razorbacks are off to their first 3-0 start since 2016. They have also entered the top-25 since the very same season.
The primary narrative surrounding this game is not one in favor of Texas A&M. According to WynnBET, the Aggies are just 4.5 point favorites against a team that they have defeated nine consecutive times.
Fortunately, anybody who has seen all three Texas A&M Football games from start to finish knows that this is still a strong football team. They may not have their starting quarterback, but there are a handful of reasons why they’ll still beat the Hogs, starting with an obvious reason.
The talent gap between the Texas A&M Football team and Arkansas Football team is nearly insurmountable
The first reason, and one that may not be the end-all, be-all, is the fact that Texas A&M has a significant advantage in the talent department. Per 247Sports’ talent rankings, the Aggies’ have the 8th-most talented roster in college football, while the Razorbacks are outside of the top-25 looking in at the 28th spot.
As of now, you’d also have to give the coaching edge to Texas A&M, who has one of the very few head coaches in college football who has won a national championship in Jimbo Fisher. The Razorbacks do have a strong up-and-coming coaching staff, but if you pinned them head-to-head with A&M’s coaches, there wouldn’t be much of a competition.

The Texas A&M Football team doesn’t have to worry about home-field advantage against Arkansas
The Texas A&M football team sort of lucks out in this department. Rather than playing in a hostile environment in Fayetteville, this game will take place in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. If anything, this could serve as a home game for the Aggies, though it’s more of a neutral-site situation.
If there was a home-field advantage for Arkansas, the Aggies would be in big trouble here. Instead, they’ll be staying in their home state. With the advantages in momentum that Arkansas will hold, this is a huge boost to the Aggies’ chances of continuing their undefeated season.
That said, the Razorbacks have been known to bring a big crowd, even to out-of-state games like this. There should be a good fan turnout that has this NFL stadium bumping on Saturday night.
Still, this signifies a return to normalcy rather than a deviation from the normal routine. Last year, these two teams played at Kyle Field during a season where COVID-19 was meddling in everybody’s business.
Jimbo Fisher will appreciate the return to a neutral site at a good time.

The Texas A&M Football team’s defense is the best that Arkansas will have seen to this point
Arkansas has an impressive resume up to this point. There’s no denying that their dominant wins over Rice, Texas, and Georgia Southern were convincing, but they’ll be facing a whole new beast in Texas A&M.
Among the three teams that the Razorbacks previously faced in 2021, the best defense among them belongs to Texas. The Longhorns have the 75th-best unit in the country in total defense, signifying the fact that Arkansas has had it relatively easy on offense thus far this season.
Texas A&M will not roll over the same way that these two opponents have.
The Aggies have allowed just two offensive touchdowns on the year, leading a top ten unit in total defense. A&M has allowed just 3.64 yards per play, which stands at third in the nation.
A small issue here for the Aggies will be their preference to play strong pass defense over strong rush defense. They currently have the best passing defense in the country, while their rushing defense stands in the middle of the pack. Arkansas has one of the best rushing offenses in the country, so this could cause a huge clash.
Still, you have to favor the Aggies’ defense over a less talented Arkansas attack. I won’t speak on the offensive side of the ball for Jimbo Fisher, but it’s hard to see the Hogs dropping another 40-burger on Saturday night.
