5. Brandon Jones Safety

Brandon Jones is a four-star prospect from Nacogdoches (TX) High School. The 5’11”, 193-pound safety is ranked as the no. 5 recruit in the state of Texas by 247Sports.com.

He had 95 tackles and five interceptions as a sophomore in 2013. Jones was injured in 2014 and only played in four games.

The Aggies have great depth at safety right now. Justin Evans, Armani Watts and Donovan Wilson give the Aggies as talented a trio at the position as any school in the country.

Even with all that talent returning in 2016, Jones is still good enough to push for playing time. He is a physical player and a sure tackler.

Texas A&M defensive coordinator John Chavis uses his safeties in a variety of ways. Jones can play close to the line of scrimmage against the run, or be split out wide in coverage on a receiver. If the Aggies are able to sign Jones, they should be set at the safety position for years to come.
