Dust off your Whammy because Texas A&M baseball is finally here in Aggieland. The Bowling Green Falcons will be the Aggies’ first test of the season.

Texas A&M kicks-off the 2017 season Friday, 6:30 pm at Olsen Field against Bowling Green State University. The Aggies begin the season ranked No. 20 in the USAToday Coaches Poll. Texas A&M is just one of six SEC teams ranked in the preseason poll.

Unfortunately, not a single Aggie was named to the All-SEC Team. Despite the successes of the last few years, the Aggie will begin this season an underdog in the SEC but will soon prove themselves on the national level. Players, coaches, and fans all have their eyes to Omaha and that journey begins now.

While the Aggie are looking to avenge their NCAA Super Regional lost to TCU with a trip to Omaha, Bowling Green hopes to improve on the 2016 season where they finished 17-37. The Falcons are a very experienced team returning 24 players from last season, losing only half the number of starts as A&M. Blue Bell Park will be a challenge for Bowling Green, as they are not known for power hitting. Falcon players only hit 15 home runs compared to the Aggies 62 home runs.

There will be a lot of new faces in the lineup come Friday night. Bring your scorecard and prepare to get sucked in to another wonderful year of Aggie baseball.
