Texas A&M Softball: Aggies, 10-0, Continue Undefeated Start

Sunday, Texas A&M vs SFA

Lexi Smith took the circle for the finale of the Texas A&M Invitational. She went six and a third innings, giving up 7 runs on 10 hits over that time. She had 10 base on balls on Sunday afternoon to 12 strikeouts. Smith was credited with the win and moves to 3-0 on the season.

The Aggies took a 2-0 lead in the bottom on the first when Tori Vidales and Kaitlyn Alderink scored on a throwing error by the Lady Jacks’ left fielder. SFA responded in the top of the 3rd, scoring one. However, the Aggies turned on the fire in the home half of the inning, putting up a four-spot.

After back to back walks of Ashley Walters and Sarah Hudek, Samantha Show smacked out a double to score them both. Show was thrown out attempting to stretching to third third. Kristen Cuyos followed Show with a single, scoring one batter later on a double by Riley Sartian. Sartain would later score on a single by Kaitlyn Alderink. 6-1 Aggies.

Two more runs were added to the total on a Kristen Cuyos homer down the left field line, scoring Miranda Miles. 8-1 Aggies. The top of the 7th was a struggle for Lexi Smith as the Lady Jacks put up a six-spot. All six were credited to Smith’s stat line. Samantha Show came in, put out the fire and pushed the Aggies to 10-0.

What’s Next?

The ladies in Maroon and White are headed to Cathedral City, California for the Mary Nutter Classic this weekend. The games will not be televised, but links to radio coverage can be found on the Aggie Athletics webpage. The Aggies will play as follows:
