Texas A&M Baseball (8-1) will join several Big 12 and SEC powerhouses in Houston this weekend to face off in the Shriner’s College Classic.

This year’s lineup includes SEC members No. 15 Texas A&M, No. 11 Ole Miss, and No. 4 LSU. There will also be three old Big 12 rivals: No. 1 TCU, No. 10 Texas Tech, and Baylor.

The Aggies dropped their first game of the year Saturday against Pepperdine, 1-2, but won both midweek games against PVAMU (9-2) and Incarnate Word (12-5). This weekend will give the freshman class a taste of the caliber of play they will face during SEC conference play.

While all eyes are on Saturday night’s, Super Regional rematch. The 9-1 Red Raiders cannot be over looked. Coach Tim Tadlock’s team has traveled to Omaha in two of the last three years, representing the Big 12 in the College World Series.

The letters T-C-U have left a sour taste in the mouths of Aggie Baseball fans for the past two off seasons. But taking down the undefeated, No. 1 ranked Horn Frogs could become the biggest regular season win for the Aggies all year.
