Bears To Look Out For

Mark Sluys was very impressive against Nicholls state. While the team lost all three games, the junior from Gig Harbor, WA hit .636 at the plate. Sluys did not see much playing time last season but looks to be an important part of Brown’s offence for 2017.

On the mound, senior RHP Christian Taugner is a huge asset for the Bears. The Illinois native, has a 2.55 career ERA with 6.94 strikeout per 9 innings. Taugner will face off against sophomore RHP Mitchell Kilkenny on Sunday.

Aggies To Look Out For

Freshman Cole Bedford has been a strong force behind the plate for the Aggies so far this season. Bedford has started five games this season and posted an impressive .500 in 26 plate appearances. All eyes will be on the competition between Bedford and freshman catcher, Hunter Coleman, as the Aggies get closer to conference play.

Brigham Hill continues to be a consistent force for the Aggies, having pitched 20.2 shutout innings so far this season. Hill has also held opponents to .167 batting. Having a dependable Friday night starter, sets the team up for great things every weekend.

After outdueling Texas Tech’s ace, Hill will look to maintain his perfect 0.00 ERA against the Bears. His fastball command has improved in each start this season, and this will be his final tuneup before taking the rubber against Kentucky a week from Friday.
