2011-2012

Coach Kennedy inherited a team ripened with talent. His 2011-2012 roster included David Loubeau, Elston Turner, Ray Turner, and Khris Middleton. The team was projected to win a loaded Big 12 conference prior to the season, however quite the opposite occurred.

The Aggies finished 14-18, winning only four conference games. This season was supposed to bring the University to new heights. Instead the program suddenly found itself in the midst of a rebuilding project.

2012-2013

The Aggies entered the second season under Coach Kennedy with a few reasons for optimism. They would begin their first season in the much weaker South Eastern Conference, and also returned their most prolific scorer in Elston Turner.

Things seemed to be trending in the right direction for the maroon and white as they went 12-3 through the first 15 games of the season. That run included a legendary performance by Turner at Rupp Arena where Texas A&M became the first conference foe in the Calipari era to take down the Kentucky Wildcats at home. Unfortunately the team was unable to build off of that early momentum. The Aggies stumbled to an 18-15 record and missed the post season for a second consecutive year.
