After a four game skid in the previous week, Texas A&M Baseball found the win column on Tuesday night vs. Rice, 8-5. The Aggies improved to 15-7 overall.

A mid-week loss at Texas and a sweep at the hands of Kentucky made for a disappointing 0-4 week for the Aggies. The team knew a rebound was necessary sooner rather than later and they found that against Rice on Tuesday night.

Pitching

A trio of Aggie pitchers covered nine innings of work as the Maroon and White took down the Rice Owls 8-5.

Junior Corbin Martin got the start on the mound. He has struggled to find the zone this season and as a result his season ERA sits at about 4.87. In this three inning long outing, he allowed two runs on four hits accompanied by a walk and four strikeouts.

Normal midweek starter, John Doxakis took the mound and earned the win. He pitched the middle four innings. He allowed one run on three hits in what was likely his most dominant outing of the year so far. His season ERA continues to drop as he racks up strong performances, learning and getting better as the season goes on.

Weekend starter Mitchell Kilkenny found himself working as a member of the bullpen, pitching the final two innings. He gave up two runs on four hits as the Aggies closed out the victory over the Rice Owls. Perhaps this signals a possible change in the weekend rotation coming forward.

Not to be outshone by the pitching trio, senior Blake Kopetsky made a web-gem of a catch in the top of the 7th that ranked a 10/10 by the Blue Bell faithful. We hope the wall is okay because Blake hit it hard.
