The Offense: Better Late Than Never

The Aggies took a while to really get going on Tuesday. Senior Joel Davis, the star of the night, put the Maroon and White on the board in the 2nd with a homer to right. The homer was part of his 2-for-3 night in which he notched three RBI and a run scored.

Rice added two runs and by the 4th inning the Aggies found themselves down 3-1. Joel Davis knocked in a run in that inning to cut into the lead, but it wasn’t until the 5th inning that the Aggie offense really got going.

Three runs would score in the home half of the 5th, giving the Aggies a permanent lead. Senior Austin Homan, who has made some serious adjustments at the plate that definitely showed, knocked in the first on a single to right. Homan finished the night 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored.

After that it was once again all about those Aggie freshman. Braden Shewmake helped a run score on a sac-fly and then a double by Logan Foster scored a third run.

A single by Logan Foster and a double by Joel Davis would bring home 2 more runs in the 7th and a second sac-fly by Braden Shewmake would score the Aggies final run of the night.
