Game 2: Texas A&M beats Auburn 6-3

When Blake Logan launched a 3-run Home Run to left field to start Saturday’ game, I thought Texas A&M was in for another long day. But the Texas A&M offense and bullpen responded well to even the series with a 6-3 win.

After giving up three runs on four hits in the 1st, Aggie starter Corbin Martin settled down and only allowed two more hits in two more innings of work. Kaylor Chaffin and Mitchell Kilkenny put on one of the best bullpen performances of the season, combining to allow only four hits over six innings. Chaffin earned his 3rd win of the year while Kilkenny earned his 3rd save.

As for the offense, Texas A&M greatly improved on their poor Friday performance, hitting a combined .250 at the plate. Leading the way was Hunter Coleman, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and scoring two runs himself.

Jorge Gutierrez started off the scoring with a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 2nd. Coleman followed Gutierrez up in the 3rd with a 2 run #Whammy in to right. Cam Blake added on in the 5th with a single scoring Joel Davis. Finally, George Janca capped the Aggie scoring in the 6th, scoring on a wild pitch.
