The Pitching Staff and The Catcher

The Aggie core pitching staff consists of Samantha Show, Lexi Smith, and Trinity Harrington. All three have been instrumental in the success of the team as a whole.

Samantha Show is coming off a phenomenal freshman season and has not missed a beat this year. She is 14-2 on the season with 2 saves and an ERA of 1.04, good for 14th best in the NCAA. Through 81 innings pitched, she has only given up 15 runs. She is also batting .291 on the season with 3 home runs and 24 RBI.

Lexi Smith is a transfer from Temple College and has been a huge asset to the Aggies this season. She is a perfect 10-0 on the season, only having given up 17 total runs.  Her ERA sits at 1.19, 23rd in the NCAA. Smith is also racking up the strike outs, sitting at 97 on the year. She’s also not a bad singer.

Trinity Harrington struggled with injuries last season and that showed in her numbers. However, this year she is back and better than ever. Harrington is 11-1 with 1 save on the season, a huge improvement from her 7-9 season last year. She ranks 19th in the NCAA with a 1.14 ERA.

Also of note is freshman Payton McBride who has been strong out of the bullpen when needed. She has a 2.50 ERA over 14 innings pitched and continues to improve every outing she makes. McBride has not pitched since March 26th, but her presence will surely be important come post season play.

The Backstop

Junior Ashley Walters has been strong behind the plate all season for the Aggies, only making one error on the season. She has started every game this year and has been integral to the success of the team. She has a fielding percentage of 96.1%.

Her strength is not limited to behind the plate. She is batting .347 with 29 RBI and 2 homers.

Overall, the Aggie battery is a strong one and has been a strong part of the success Texas A&M has seen throughout the season. They will need to keep this up to finish the regular season and into post season play.
