Remember when this team started 0-5 in SEC Play? They don’t. Texas A&M Baseball is red-hot following a sweep of Alabama this weekend on the road.

The Aggie Offense roared to life as Texas A&M (26-11, 8-7) swept aside the Alabama Crimson Tide (14-22, 2-13) over the Easter weekend. Texas A&M claimed their 4th, 5th and 6th victories in a row thanks to some major improvements at both the plate and on the mound.
What stood out the most this weekend was the absolutely incredible performance by the Texas A&M Bullpen. I have said since the beginning of this season that this Texas A&M Baseball Team will go as far as their bullpen will allow them to. Based on this weekend’s performance, this Aggie team is capable of a postseason run.
Game 1: Texas A&M defeats Alabama 9-5
Not many SEC teams have been able to get to Brigham Hill this season. Alabama did not join that list Thursday night as they scored five runs on eight hits on Hill over 3.2 innings of work. However, the combination of five unanswered runs and a lights-out Aggie bullpen spurred Texas A&M on to a 9-5 victory in the first game of the series.
The Aggies started off hot, immediately scoring four runs in the top of the 1st. Nick Choruby started the game off with a triple to left field and scored on a failed pick off attempt right after. Joel Davis followed later with an RBI Single scoring Braden Shewmake. Walker Pennington then scored Joel Davis with an RBI Double.
However, Alabama fought right back against Brigham Hill, scoring one in the 2nd, two in the 3rd and two in the 4th to take a 5-4 lead. The Aggies in turn responded with a combined five runs in the 5th and 6th innings thanks to some errors by the Alabama defense. Alabama committed five errors over the evening that they simply could not overcome.
The highlight of the night was the Aggie bullpens performance of Cason Sherrod and Kaylor Chafin. The duo combined for 5.1 innings of work and allowed no runs on just one hit. Chaffin retired all six batters he faced, striking out half of them.
