Daeshon Hall was the third Aggie off the board in the 2017 NFL Draft. Fans and the national media sounded off, showing their support for the pick.

Following in the footsteps of his fellow end rusher Myles Garrett, Daeshon Hall became the third Texas A&M defender to be selected in this year’s draft. For a team that wasn’t known for their defensive prowess, they certainly had some NFL-caliber players on their roster.

Hall joins a talented Panthers defense that is loaded on the defensive line. While he won’t keep for a starting role next season, he’s still figures to be an important building block for the Panthers defense in the year to come.

His teammates, coaches, fans and the media sounded off on his selection.

The Panthers (of course) and their fans are excited for Hall to join the squad.

His coaches and teammates expressed their support.

The rapid reaction from FanSided’s Matt Verdamere was encouraging as well:

"At 266 pounds, Hall has the right size to play 4-3 defensive end. Look for the Panthers to give him some snaps in subpackages and on special teams. Last year, general manager David Gettleman addressed the same position group with Vernon Butler, so he doubles down."

Hall has the good fortune of studying under Charles Johnson and Julius Peppers. You can’t ask for much better mentors than that. He told reporters that he was a bit overwhelmed, admitting he didn’t think he would be picked this early. That’s all gravy now. Go get ’em Daeshon, or as they say in Carolina, keep pounding.
