player. 48. . Round 2 (50 Overall). Buccaneers. Justin Evans. S

Every time I heard talk of an Aggie player coming up big in 2016, Justin Evans‘ name came up a lot. I followed the NFL well enough to know that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came this close to making the playoffs last season. They’re pretty set on offense (and they actually came quite close to beating the Cowboys). However, they probably needed a little more help on defense to close out games.

So the Bucs drafted, in my opinion, one of the top safeties they could get. One of their pro bowlers is a guy many might remember who caught a few passes while at Texas A&M, Mike Evans. Justin will have an immediate guy he can connect with on the team. Chemistry pays off.  Because of this he will fit in very quickly.

Beyond that Justin Evans was also a kick returner. If I’m not mistaken, he wasn’t bad at that at all. In other words, the Bucs just picked up a guy who can play both on defense and potentially special teams. Not bad for a second round pick.
