OT. player. 26. . Round 5 (159 Overall). Ravens. Jermaine Eluemunor

Admittedly, I’m not very familiar with the Ravens other than remember their kicker, Justin Tucker, who broke every Aggie’s heart in 2011. That being said, I’m glad that the guy from London landed on a team. After following Aggie Football the past few seasons, one thing I’ve learned is that you can never have too many high-caliber linemen.

More from Football

The old saying is true, games are won and lost in the trenches. Having the best offensive playmakers doesn’t amount to squat if the quarterback doesn’t get any protection. Eluemunor went in a fairly low round. That likely means that Ravens are probably looking at him as more of a project pick than a plug and play one. Personally, I can agree with that.

Eluemunor was one of the more consistent pieces of young, shaky offensive line for the Aggies in 2016. Still, he’s not exactly a Luke Joeckel or Jake Matthews who could probably play immediately. Or maybe he is.

Speaking of trenches, the Ravens have always struck me as a team that doesn’t really put up those flashy numbers but get it done where it counts. And getting a man like Eluemunor will certainly help them continue doing that. Finally, having an Aggie offensive lineman get drafted will further help with Texas A&M’s reputation as “OLU.” That’s short for “Offensive Line University.”
