Bottom Line:

This series hurt y’all. By no means at all does this mean the season is over, not at all. However, this series loss to Mississippi St eliminates Texas A&M from basically all chances of hosting a regional in the NCAA Tournament.

The lack of consistency at the plate as well on Thursday night vs. Friday/Saturday night was troubling. On Thursday night the Aggies looked like they could hit anything and everything. Yet the bats were nowhere to be found on Friday night and absent when they needed them the most on Saturday.

At this point we know what this team is. They have a strong rotation and some high caliber arms in the bullpen, but the offense tends toward inconsitency. When everything is clicking the Aggies can be a very hard team to beat.

Texas A&M has two SEC weekend series left this season: on the road vs. Ole Miss and at home vs. Arkansas. There’s a lot to be decided and a top 4 seed for the SEC Tournament is still in the mix.

Keep fightin’ Ags
