Ranking Justification
Malzahn and Saban are the only two active SEC coaches to lead their respective squads to a National Championship game. Malzahn accomplished that feat in 2012 with Nick Marshall as his quarterback.
He’s never had a .500 or worse season in his coaching career in spite of finishing ever year with a the Iron Bowl. The SEC is so competitive that Malzahn was rumored to be on the hot seat last year. The list of coaches that would be an immediate improvement at Auburn is few and far between.
