12. Will Muschamp – South Carolina

Record at School

6-7

Ranking Justification

After a less than stellar stint at Florida, Muschamp appears to have gotten off to an auspicious start with the Gamecocks. Muschamp’s staunch defense kept South Carolina in nearly every game, forcing more turnovers than Alabama.

They have the benefit of playing in the SEC East rather than the West. Muschamp has always been able to field a tremendous defense. If he can find a quarterback, he’ll be set up well for a strong season ahead. However, that’s pure speculation at this point. Until he proves he can get it done on the field he’ll stay put near the bottom.

Worst Loss

It was against the eventual national champions, but losing by 49 never looks good.

Best Win

South Carolina upset a Tennessee team that was unbeatable just a few weeks earlier.
