The Gig’em Gazette Pick’em Challenge sponsored by MaroonU is officially under way. Texas A&M Baseball is a favorite, but who else might be headed to Omaha.

The contest is closed. In a few weeks a new champion will be crowned at the College World Series and someone is going to win an authentic Aggie baseball Jersey. Did you stick with the favorite, or go all-in on an underdog?

Davidson (35-24) at Texas A&M (39-21)

The tournament Cinderella advances to play the Aggies, a surprise Super Regional host. Unsurprisingly, the Aggies are heavy favorites.

Vanderbilt (36-23-1) at No. 1 Oregon St. (52-4)

Oregon State hasn’t lost a series all year. That’s can’t help the odds for those that picked Vanderbilt.

Cal St. Fullerton (37-21) at Long Beach St. (41-18-1)

At least one West coast team is headed to Omaha. Who advances seems to be nearly a coin flip in our pool.

Kentucky (43-21) at No. 7 Louisville (50-10)

In what might be the most heated series of the weekend, two in-state rivals square off with a trip to the College World Series on the line.

Sam Houston St. (44-21) at Florida St. (43-21)

The Bearkats have beat up on some good Texas competition recently, but how will they fair out of the state? Most folks think it won’t go so well for them against the Seminoles.

Mississippi St. (40-25) at No. 4 LSU (46-17)

It’s guaranteed that at least one SEC team is going to Omaha. These are two relatively evenly matched squads, but the numbers don’t give the Bulldogs much of a shot.

Missouri St. (43-18) at No. 6 TCU (45-16)

This series pits a college baseball powerhouse versus a team from the Missouri Valley Conference. To no surprise the team with the big names is a heavy favorite.

Wake Forest (42-18) at No. 3 Florida (45-17)

The SEC is favored to win another regional, this time on the East coast. Can Stuart Fairchild upset an Omaha regular?

Will the masses prevail? Probably not, but that’s why we play the games. Everybody wants to win that jersey, but most importantly, we all want the Aggies to win. Gig’em. BTHO Davidson.
