Wait a second… Didn’t Trayveon Williams have a breakout season last year? Yes, yes, he did! But not quite on a national scale like Saquon Barkley or Sam Darnold. Aggies know who he is and what he’s capable of, but this year I think it’ll be made known to the world.

There are a lot of eyes on the Aggies anyway so they’ll already be getting more national attention. Plus, with a rocky quarterback situation, the Aggies will have to rely on the run game more this year. The Aggies will also have a more experienced offensive line in 2017. Put those ingredients in the pot, and you have a recipe for more national attention for Trayveon Williams and a good chance at success in 2017.

Williams is going in with a solid season under his belt and will be looking to make this one even better. Last season, he was the first true-freshman Aggie running back to rush for over 1,000 yards and was named to the True Freshman All-American team and the Freshman All-SEC Team.

Less Receivers means more Williams

The loss of Josh Reynolds is going to help him as well. How so? Because the Aggies lost a deep threat in Reynolds, they’ll have to find another way to create big plays. It looks like they’ll turn to the screen pass. It’ll be easier on the inexperienced QB’s plus the more experienced offensive line will be better at blocking down the field this year. Williams in the open field is deadly as it is, but if you give him some momentum and some big boys to run behind, watch out!

I could sit here and type all day on what I think Trayveon is capable of, but you know that already. So, I’ll leave a video here to do the talking and hopefully convince you that this is the year of Trayveon Williams to make his mark.
