Armani Watts
What can’t this guy do? Watts was all over the field Sunday night. The fan favorite and defensive captain played his heart out in the first game of his senior campaign. Alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick of Alabama and Derwin James of Florida State, Watts is considered one of the best safeties in all of college football and is a potential first round pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
A student athlete’s senior season is similar to a professional athlete’s contract year. Athletes must leave it all on the field in an attempt to maximize their future earnings as a professional. Watts did exactly that in Week 1.
To the surprise of no one, Watts lit up the stat sheet. According to ESPN.com, he accounted for 12 solo tackles, one tackle for loss, two passes defended, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble. He nearly returned his fumble recovery for touchdown which would have been the exclamation mark to his already impressive stat line (not to mention it would have helped with the end result of the game).

Even in a losing effort, this guy is gonna bring it. That’s the best part about Armani. Win, lose, or draw he’s going to give it everything he’s got. Its going to be a challenge to not give this man a helmet sticker each and every week this season.
