Texas A&M football pulled out a win in their home opener against Nicholls State. These three Aggies in particular deserve to be acknowledged for their exceptional performances from Saturday.

Texas A&M football desperately needed to bounce back after their collapse last week against UCLA. Heading into their Week 2 match up versus Nicholls State, the biggest question surrounding the team was who would be starting at quarterback for the remainder of the 2017 season. With Week 1 starter Nick Starkel sidelined for what looks to be the remainder of the season, true freshman Kellen Mond and senior Jake Hubenak have been left to battle it out for the QB-1 spot.

With that being said, Saturday’s game against Nicholls raised more quarterback questions than it answered. Both Mond and Hubenak were not able to get into a rhythm and at times looked out of sync with their receivers. It seemed like both quarterbacks were less worried about making a play and more worried about not making a mistake.

Taking all of that into consideration, Texas A&M football fans will have to wait another week to see if an Aggie quarterback earns a helmet sticker.

Although this game didn’t result in the blowout we all so desperately wanted and needed, several players did still manage to have breakout performances en route to A&M’s 24-14 win. These three players lead their team to victory and are worthy of praise.
