Tripucka was one of the few Texas A&M players to have a great game against UCLA in spite of the end result of that game. That great play continued Saturday.

Tripucka was called on to punt six times averaging around 48 yards per punt including a 61 yard bomb that ended up being his longest of the night. Three of his punts went 50 yards or longer, and two of them were downed inside of the 20 yard line.

Make no mistake, Tripuka earned this. He was a driving forced in the Aggies’ victory. Florida State and Alabama traded shanked punts in their Week 1 showdown. Not great. Texas A&M has plenty of things that need to improve as the season goes on, but the punting job is not one of them.

Our guy Trip’ may already be on the preseason watch list for the Ray Guy Award, but that’s not the only award he’s chasing. He’s also after these prestigious GIg’Em Gazette helmet stickers! If he keeps this up he’ll be playing for both as the season continues.
