Daylon Mack

Granted it’s early in the post-Myles Garrett era at Texas A&M, but at the moment the Aggies are still searching for his replacement. While they haven’t yet found a player with Garrett’s ability, they’ve been able to get production out of various guys on the defensive line. Last week it was defensive end Jarrett Johnson who stepped up. It was Daylon Mack in Week 2.

Mack was causing all sorts of problems for the Nicholls State offense. His ability to time the snap count and get past offensive linemen was on full display Saturday night. It truly is frightening just how fast he can end up in the opposing team’s backfield.

Mack had some big hits in this game as well. There was one play where he nearly folded the Nicholls State running back in half! He certainly knows how to make his presence felt as an interior defensive lineman.

Mack ended the game having accounted for 5 total tackles and 2 tackles for loss. He truly looked like a man among boys. Mack could be poised for a big year if he continues playing with this kind of intensity.
