1.Alabama (3-0)

Defeated Colorado State 41-23

Alabama has, once again, been at the top of this poll. They lose tons of talent every year to the NFL, and always seem to replace it and improve. Nick Saban has built a well oiled machine in Tuscaloosa the likes of which college football tends to see every decade.

The Tide have had their ten years, and there may be new challengers to the throne. We all saw Clemson beat Alabama in a thriller last year, and the Tide have shown signs of weakness.

They can be easily switched with Clemson or Oklahoma, but Alabama still has to make its way through the SEC. Their biggest game could be the annual slugfest against LSU, the game against Mississippi State (if State turns out to be as good as they were against LSU all year long), or the Iron Bowl.

Next: Which schools make the most sense for SEC expansion?

They aren’t going to have the same top ten matchups that Penn State or Oklahoma are going to have, but their pedigree and record should get them in at years end.
