I’m a true believer of momentum, Arkansas had it during the Bobby Petrino era, but that all ended with his firing and the hiring of Kevin Sumlin at Texas A&M. The Razorbacks won three straight in this series from 2009-2011. Since then, the Aggies have won every game since joining the conference in 2012.

Momentum is definitely on the side of the Aggies and with five consecutive wins in the series no one in their football building (okay maybe there’s someone with no influence) knows how to beat the Aggies. Arkansas had their chances in 2014 and 2015 leading both games in the fourth quarter but the Aggies would rally late and win both games in overtime. Last year’s game was tied at halftime before the Aggies ran off 21 points in a row to win 45-24.

What will happen this year?  For me I do not see anything different happening this year.  I do think the game will be close again, but watching Arkansas struggle at home against TCU gives me hope that the hype surrounding them was just hype. They probably only have one position unit edge and that’s at the quarterback position and whatever margin exists is closing as Mond gains more experience.

Final score prediction:  Aggies win 27-21 (3-1)
