What a huge game and fortunately for the Aggies they catch the Bulldogs after the bye week. If this game was now, I would tell you after I’m very worried after watching them slap LSU around for 60 minutes.

At the beginning of the season, both games against teams from the Magnolia State were must-wins. I do not believe Coach Sumlin will survive without winning both of these games. It’s really difficult to know if the result in last year’s game would be different if Trevor Knight doesn’t get hurt. Jake Hubenak almost completed the come back. That leaves me optimistic. With this game six weeks away and at home I give us a slight edge.

The Mississippi State schedule is just as tough as ours leading up to the game. They play at Georgia, at Auburn and then catch BYU and Kentucky at home. I like them to go 3-1 in that stretch. I’m not sure which road game they win but getting both is unlikely. If they do get both a very highly ranked team will enter Kyle Field with a chance to leave Aggieland undefeated with Alabama coming to Starkville two weeks later.

After what I’ve seen of the Aggies I still like us to hold serve but it will be a wild game.

Final score prediction: Aggies win 38-35 (6-2)
