4. Young talent must rise to the occasion

Kevin Sumlin’s recruiting ability is one of his strong points. The class of 2020 and 2021 (AAAAAAAA) are examples. Again, if we’re looking towards the future, we need to see production and solid performance from these young players. Even if they don’t do good, them getting the opportunity to play against one of the best teams in the nation will benefit them.

Guys like Tyrel Dodson, Kellen Mond, Roshauud Paul, Daylon Mack, Jhamon Ausbon, Myles Jones, and Clyde Chriss are guys who the Aggies are going to depend on not only on Saturday but for the rest of the season and for the next few years. Young talent won’t develop unless they get quality reps, and I think Saturday will be the best reps they’re going to get all year.

Seeing these players shine, if only for a moment, will give the 12th Man hope for the years to come. Even if we only catch a glimpse of what’s possible, we know that it is still possible. Of course, we’re not asking for perfection, but a solid showing will give us some sort of comfort even if the score isn’t in our favor.
