Weeks 6 and 7 (3-1, 0-1 Big 12): At Arkansas and Texas Tech

Texas A&M defeats Arkansas 58-10

2011 Texas A&M played Arkansas in Dallas, so we’re going to shift the Arkansas game to here. In 2012, Texas A&M demolished Arkansas 58-10. In the game, Johnny Manziel had 453 passing yards for a total of four touchdowns and ran for 105 yards. An amazing performance in a dismantling of an SEC team that would go on to finish 4-8.

After Arkansas, the Aggies would travel back home to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Kliff Kingsbury would coach against his former team and try to come away with a win. The averages of 10 games gives him just this:

Texas A&M defeats Texas Tech 37-28

There were several shootouts, but the game I highlighted was for a different reason entirely. The simulator spit out Texas A&M 39, Texas Tech 7. Johnny did well, going 26-39 for 284 yards with three touchdowns and 92 rushing yards. But the defense was the winner of this game. Seven sacks and three picks will stop any offense in its tracks.
