3. Aggie defense forces at least two turnovers
The Aggie secondary currently boasts the top two leaders in interceptions in the SEC with Armani Watts (four) and Tyrel Dodson (three). With the exception of the second half against UCLA, the Aggie defense has been a solid unit all year. They gave Alabama their biggest scare to date this year.
Additionally, Texas A&M is tied with Clemson with 28 sacks on the year which leads the entire nation. I expect Texas A&M to pass Clemson and get to Fitzgerald several times during the game. Once they get beyond the line of scrimmage they’re going to force Fitzgerald into more than one bad decision.
This defense has had a knack for big plays since John Chavis took over. The pass rush combined with the protective presence of Watts in the defensive back field has given even the best offenses trouble. A strong defense leads to more opportunities for the offense and the offense won’t turn down any free possessions they can get.
